SND*TRK VOL III (Oct. 2024)

Despite being separated from the capital of Canada by a river and a provincial border, Gatineau has played a crucial part in the development of the region’s hip hop scene. This phenomenon, in my opinion, is not embodied any better than by David Leclerc, a.k.a “Quest”, the region’s go-to guy for videography, music production and mixing services. His work spans over 2 decades of music and includes credits with many local hip-hop figures, both francophone and anglophone, such as D-Track, LeFLOFRANCO and City Fidelia.

Most importantly, Quest is an individual that always keeps his feet to the ground and his heart open to the community. As part of the rollout of the third volume of his “SND*TRK” series, he hosted an free open event at Le Troquet, a local bar and social hotspot located in downtown Hull, Gatineau. It was there that he invited friends, family and fellow collaborators to come together and celebrate the strength and perseverance of the local community, despite years of grueling lockdowns and post-pandemic woes. After all, in his own words, it’s all “for the culture”.
